A2E3 AB, owned by brothers Marcus and Tobias Sjödell, has entered into an agreement to acquire all shares in Ferbe Tools AB as of September 1, 2025. The acquisition also includes the two properties where Ferbe Tools AB currently conducts its operations. The acquisition is a strategic step in A2E3’s long-term commitment to grow within advanced tool manufacturing.
Since 2020, A2E3 AB has owned the Småland-based tooling company Form & Verktygs AB Lööf. Founded in 1962 in Gislaved, the company has built a strong reputation over the years in the design and manufacture of mold tools. The Lööf family ran the business for two generations before it was acquired by brothers Tobias and Marcus Sjödell in 2020. Since then, the company has received the “Toolmaker of the Year” award in both 2023 and again in 2025, granted by the Swedish Plastics Industry Association.
Ferbe Tools AB is a well-known name in the industry and has long been recognized for its technical expertise, precision, and quality. In the late 1990s, Ferbe was one of Europe’s largest tooling companies with nearly 90 employees and remains today a significant supplier of advanced precision tools.
Ferbe Tools AB will continue to operate under its own brand as an independent unit within the A2E3 Group. Tobias Sjödell will take over as CEO, and the daily operations will continue in their current form. With a vision to become one of Europe’s leading mold tool manufacturers, we will purposefully develop facilities and machinery, and increase automation and skills development. Together, we are building a strong team.
– We are very pleased with the opportunity to acquire Ferbe Tools. Taking over such a well-reputed company with highly skilled staff and long experience in building complex precision tools feels fantastic, says Tobias Sjödell, CEO, A2E3 AB.
We have been looking for a new and larger facility for Form & Verktygs AB Lööf for quite some time, so being able to solve that in the same deal added extra value, he adds.
Form & Verktygs AB Lööf will also continue to operate under its own brand as an independent unit within the A2E3 Group. In connection with the acquisition of the properties on Baldersvägen in Gislaved, Form & Verktygs AB Lööf will relocate its current operations from Solhemsgatan to Baldersvägen during the autumn and spring of 2026.
– By becoming part of the A2E3 Group, we continue to develop Ferbe in a long-term and sustainable way. We retain our skilled staff, strong culture, and close customer relationships. This further strengthens our offering,” says Håkan Ekdahl, CEO, Ferbe Tools AB.
